Located in Lincoln Square at 4530 N. Lincoln, this homey Irish pub skews more restaurant than bar and thankfully eschews the normal faux-Irish feel that most Irish pubs leave you with. Have I ever been to a pub in Ireland to qualify that statement? Oh God no. But the lack of backwards cap meatheads and paper shamrocks on the wall do.The beef stew was tremendous, the restaurant was nice and dark (I'm a sucker for a dark, borderline pitch black bar/restaurant) and the Smithwick's was tasty. Bonus points for the fireplace in the back and booths in the front. Two TVs by the bar allow it to keep it's pub status without edging into sports bar territory.
