Due Date - The Waiting Game

Today is the day, technically speaking. Not sure if it will happen or not (the smart money says 'no'), but we're both ready. We think. And hope. She's kicking like one of the Rockettes, but seems content to wait out the cold and snow inside the warm embrace of Katy's uterus. (And really, who can blame her?) Suffice it to say, she's already inherited one of her father's personality traits: procrastination.

She's off the hook as far as having to share her birthday with Jesus Christ, who seems to overshadow everybody, so that's good. On deck is New Year's Day...and while it would be cool to be one of the first babies of the new decade, I'm told that the tax benefits of having an 09' baby would be just as cool for her parents.

I've mentally steeled myself for the dirty diapers, the late night wailing and the debilitating lack of sleep. Now I just want to hold my baby in my arms and have her look into my eyes. Everything else can wait.
