Torta Tremendous

The Gunthrop Chicken torta at the new Rick Bayless joint XOCO, 449 N. Clark Street. For only a few dollars more than you would pay at Subway or Jimmy John's, you can upgrade to some world class street food prepared by (or at least inspired by) the master. You had me at wood burning oven. The caramelized onion, black beans, avocado and tomatillo salsa edge this sandwich into 'unfair' territory.

Threats of long lines had kept me from coming here earlier. Once FOHHH (friend of HHH) Ken Haynes texted me 'no line', I ran like a pansy all the way there, with the dulcet sounds of Coldplay's 'Fix You' serving as the soundtrack to my imaginary run.
